At Helm Recovery, we support men transitioning out of residential treatment by providing a safe, comfortable living environment and the spiritual foundation to build a fulfilling life in recovery. Our structured program helps residents thrive alongside like-minded peers while they establish themselves in the Greater Portland community.
Through job placement assistance, sponsorship, and counseling referrals, we empower each individual to grow personally and professionally. Guided by the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, we take pride in helping men find lasting freedom from addiction and rediscover purpose in sober living.

Our Mission
Helm Recovery’s mission is to help men that have struggled with substance abuse disorder become recovered members of society. We require our residents to become immersed in all three sides of the recovery triangle; recovery, service, and unity.
Through our own personal 12-step experiences we understand this is how you treat the physical addiction, mental obsession and spiritual malady.
